Interview with Satyajit Majumder

Interview with Satyajit Majumder: Satyajit Majumder is one of the popular and top influencer in India. He is from Kolkata and creating awesome content on his blogging website and on Instagram page. We loved the discussion and had a great time while Interview with Satyajit Majumder.

Amar Ajnalkar: Tell our readers about yourself?

Satyajit Majumder: I believe in simplicity. I would choose comfort over luxury any day. I don’t have any addictions but social media. Also, my dietician has suppressed the big foodie inside me. I believe I am a good singer, and I would like others to believe that, too. From being called an “elephant” to running a popular blog, I think I shaped my destiny the way I dreamt.
As a kid I was overweight and bulky, or “fat”, as they would call me, which disturbed my mental state every now and then… I was unconsciously brewing up grave insecurities in my head out of this constant humiliation. I started blogging in the year 2017 when not many were aware of what blogging actually was. I totally felt alien to these social media drills. I nevertheless kept posting reviews on Instagram and within 5 months brands started sending proposals. I got featured in the ‘Calcutta Times’ newspaper for the #FlirtWithYourCity campaign and in few other blogs too. Even Calcutta Medical College invited me as their Chief Guest and I was given the privilege to Judge the event- Mister Kolkata Rhapsody (secretly, another dream come true!).

Amar Ajnalkar: How did you come up with the name for your Instagram account?

Satyajit Majumder: I had created an Instagram page just like every other user. It was never in the plan to build my identity on social media. But, after my transformation, I got an amazing response. I started doing photoshoots and endorsing products of various brands. And hence, the journey began. I came up with the name “thetwoinoneguy” which means one guy with two different souls. I believe, I have lead two different lives, one with 105 kgs and the life with 75 kgs which I am having right now.

My Instagram page @thetwoinoneguy is about food, fashion, lifestyle and motivation. I like to keep it diverse and engaging for my audience.

Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best thing about being an influencer?

Satyajit Majumder: For a blogger, blogs work as a medium to express oneself. You do it the way you like it. Whereas, the best thing about being an influencer you not only get to express but also to impress. You are able to create an impact on your audience. At the end of the day, you ‘influence’ them. So as fun as it may seem, it is risky and is a position that comes with a lot of responsibility.

Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best collaboration experience that you have done with a brand?

Satyajit Majumder: The first collaboration experience was with Cbazaar.com and the journey of mine started with this brand who is into designer ethnic wear. I started reviewing brands and continued it for a long time, but none sent a proposal for a collaboration. I didn’t lose hope.  One day I received a mail from the Cbazaar marketing head for being their brand ambassador and it was my first collaboration. Basically brands approach influencers on the basis of content and fan base and insights. That’s it.

Amar Ajnalkar: How many hours a day do you work and hows your daily schedule?

Satyajit Majumder: Being an influencer its not at all easy, I need to work on new content every day. Recently I tied up with a manager who handles my social media accounts and also handles my business emails. So basically, we work for more than 4-5 hours every day, in case of video shoots we work for more than 12 hours.

Amar Ajnalkar: Is the influencer profession affected your family life? if yes then how?

Satyajit Majumder: When my parents get to see the bulk of acknowledgments I get, they feel proud of what I’ve done. I know I have my family to bank on if the whole universe stands against me someday. Like all other parents, they want their son to get settled with a secured job. But they have given me enough freedom to decide for myself.

Amar Ajnalkar: What motivates you in life?

Satyajit Majumder: My dream to grow big in life is my constant motivation. Each day I try to do better than yesterday. For me, I have been the only competition. It always feels good to see the amount of love I receive from my followers. And that is what that keeps me going.

Amar Ajnalkar: What are your favorite books or movies related to your niche?

Satyajit Majumder: Visuals attract me more than words. I have always preferred watching movies over reading books. ‘The Pursuit Of Happyness’, is an all-time favorite.

Amar Ajnalkar: What surprising lessons have you learned while influencing?

Satyajit Majumder: It was tough competing with myself. There was too much noise both externally and internally that kept pulling me backward. I had to give up on many delicacies to achieve all that I eventually did.

Amar Ajnalkar: Top 3 skills required to become a successful influencer.

Satyajit Majumder: Honesty. Loyalty. Transparency. You can win over any consumer with these three traits. It is very important, to be honest about any product you review or any message you convey. If you indulge in a false promotion, you end up misleading them who follow you.

Amar Ajnalkar: How’s your experience with Amar Ajnalkar?

Satyajit Majumder: Well firstly, I would thank Amar Ajnalkar to have me open up about my life. It’s a busy world, where we hardly strike a conversation with anyone, so it has been a nice time sharing my lifestyle and choices with you all.
I have miles to go before I sleep and I assure you that I will carry the memory of this interview as long as I live.

Amar Ajnalkar: Two lines for our reader.

Satyajit Majumder: Amar Ajnalkar throws light on the lifestyle of the Influencers. It helps them reach a greater audience. People get to know the story behind their success and seek inspiration from their journey.

Work hard let the success be your noise.
