Amar Ajnalkar: Tell our readers about yourself?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: I like myself to be called more as a nomad rather than Gaurav, which is my name aka the Khanabadosh. It’s been more than 6 years, since I became a nomad more, and less of an IT professional. It’s between these years that I have been trying to quench my thirst of travelling which is more on a rise now, and that’s when I started my Insta handle @the.khanabadosh.

How and when did this happen? It’s just what travelling does to a person when I experienced what I did, I thought why not share with people so that they would know what this thing called travel or wanderlust can do to a person. It does not only mean to explore places in different states and cities but it also makes you explore yourself from within. And let me tell you, you will be surprised with yourself. This very feeling of sharing made me think of a name and that being the.khanabadosh which means a nomad. I was overwhelmed with the support I received after posting my travel stories. With that number, I nowhere feel to stop from what I have been doing for these years.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗿 – 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜 As soon as we set our foot on Chadar, it was a whole new experience. I could see white sheet of snow to the lengths. Our guide told us to wear the gumboots instead of trekking shoes for further walk on Chadar. It don't feel comfortable at first, walking in those gumboots but then eventually you get used to it. I walked a little bit to make myself comfortable and ready for the long journey ahead. 'grrrcchh' , the cracking sound of ice, it scared the hell out of me in the beginning whenever we stepped into the thin sheet. We had maggie and tea in the lunch before starting our trek. As we started, we witnessed magnificent landscapes covered with snow. It was like a dream destination for the landscape photographers. One can point and shoot almost anywhere, and won't be disappointed. We walked up further and reached this point. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 : 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙠 📆 Feb 2020 𝙁𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬 👉🏼👉🏼@the.khanabadosh ⁣𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ ⁣#thekhanabadosh #tripyoursoul #teampixel  #wanderer_raavi #beingpahadia  #uttarakhandheaven #euttaranchal #uttarakhandtraveller #instahimachal #beautifulhimachal  #himalayasin #hippieinhills #himachalpictures #himalayangeographic #inhimachal #onehimachal #lehladakh #zanskar #chadartrek  #winterladakh #ladakhdiaries

Amar Ajnalkar: How did you come up with the name for your Instagram account?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: I personally believe that your username should truly reflect who you are and what you do.

Even though I am an engineer, I prefer to wander more, so thought of it to be a unique one. I changed my username a few times reflecting who I am and finally settled to this one, the.khanabadosh. Khanabadosh means a nomad which indeed I am.

PS:  For those who don’t know Khanabadosh is nowhere related to Khana “Food”.

Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best thing about being an influencer?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: I am not an influencer I would say, An influencer is one who would make a major difference to the society. I am yet to do that yet. You can say I am one of those travellers who does it not for money or fame or promotions but to merely share my thoughts and feelings about places and life at present.

I feel grateful for the support and appreciation of my Insta family. It’s because of them that has kept me going.

Amar Ajnalkar: How many hours a day do you work and hows your daily schedule?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: It’s the most common shift of 9 to 6 and a 2 days weekend. But yes I save my leaves so that can wander.

Amar Ajnalkar: Is the influencer profession affected your family life? if yes then how?

Well, doing what I love to do more has never been an issue ever. And it’s that love that I manage my work and personal life just fine.

Amar Ajnalkar: What motivates you in life?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: To be a better version of myself is one thing that keeps me moving.

Amar Ajnalkar: What are your favourite books or movies related to your niche?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: My favourite movies for fueling wanderlust – Into the wild, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, The Motorcycle Diaries

Amar Ajnalkar: What surprising lessons have you learned while influencing?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: It’s very easy to applaud in the end when all you see is a success but none can fathom the struggle and efforts you take to achieve what you have. And being a nomad it’s never been luxurious, you have to keep in mind the worst. But yes the end result is unimaginable.

Amar Ajnalkar: Top 3 skills required to become a successful influencer.

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: From what I have known over the years I can say these three tentative skills one could consider.

  1. Try and post content which people may like or want to see. A random picture with no relevance or caption to explain may not work. So you need to have a piece of knowledge about your niche.
  2. Post something you feel about sharing and you feel passionate about it. If it doesn’t bring a smile on your face talking or discussing, trust me it’s not for you.
  3. It’s not right to expect anything here, your content works, make it the way you feel from within when you see the picture. Yes, there are hard times in your journey. You need to have faith in yourself and a positive attitude for sailing through those tough times.

Amar Ajnalkar: Hows your experience with Amar Ajnalkar?

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: It’s such a wonderful experience for me with Amar Ajnalkar. Hoping to stay in touch even after this.

Amar Ajnalkar: Two lines for our reader.

Gaurav aka the Khanabadosh: I would like to tell you all one thing and that is thank you for the time that you spared for my article.
