Interview with Gagandeep Singh: Gagandeep Singh is a Fashion, Fitness, and lifestyle influencer. He is currently pursuing his graduation in Finance and Investment Analysis. We had a great talk and he shared his influencing journey while Interview with Gagandeep Singh.
Amar Ajnalkar: Tell our readers about yourself?
Gagandeep Singh: Hello guys… My name is Gagandeep Singh. Currently, I am doing bachelor’s in finance and investment analysis (BFIA) from Shaheed Sukhdev College of business studies DU (Sscbs) but I was a science student and side by side doing this influencing on Fashion, Fitness, lifestyle and some parts of beauty, food, and travel also but the major part is my fashion and fitness.
Amar Ajnalkar: How did you come up with the name for your Instagram account?
Gagandeep Singh: Basically I started influencing around 1 year and 4 months back rather than being specific it’s going to be my 1 year anniversary on the 13th of Jan 2020. And I think using your own name is the best way to name your blogging site as it’s simple and yet special at the same time too because my followers and used to know about my name only not like some cheesy names… So I used @official_gagandeep369 simple and easy.
Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best thing about being an influencer?
Gagandeep Singh: It has to be my followers. I have got a great family virtually because of the blogger. And I have to give all the credits to them for always loving and supporting me through highs and lows and with them I am blogger otherwise I am nothing they make me stand out from others and I love my followers who supported me and who hated me also.
Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best collaboration experience that you have done with a brand?
Gagandeep Singh: There are so many great experiences working with some amazing brands actually, and picking only one is really a tough call. I have worked with more than 70+ brands. So as I think many people know this but Shein Men has always been a special brand to work with. I personally go to many brand events but whenever I attend or do any blogger collaborations with Shein Men, I absolutely love how the brand people treat me. This is something that really means a lot.
Amar Ajnalkar: How many hours a day do you work and hows your daily schedule?
Gagandeep Singh: This completely depends on the brand deliverables. Sometimes I have to work for literally the whole day where some other days only an hour of work does the job.
And talking about daily schedules, honestly, I don’t have or follow a particular schedule. I am a student too so I have to take time out for all and manage everything on my own and but it’s really fun after doing this.
Amar Ajnalkar: Is the influencer profession affected your family life? if yes then how?
Gagandeep Singh: In starting it was hard for me to work in this field because my family doesn’t support me but now everyone supporting me because I achieve something in this field.
Amar Ajnalkar: What motivates you in life?
Gagandeep Singh: My family, love ones, goals motivate me the most in life and most important the haters of my life who supported me to stand up again and again.
Amar Ajnalkar: What are your favorite books or movies related to your niche?
Gagandeep Singh: I loved the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” because it’s all about The single most powerful asset we all have is our mind and with it, we can achieve anything in life. I loved the movie “Super 30” which has the same thing mind.
Amar Ajnalkar: What surprising lessons have you learned while influencing?
Gagandeep Singh: I don’t know if my answer is appropriate for this question but one thing I have learned about the whole blogging industry is you get treated on how much followers you have. I won’t say all but sometimes you actually get collaboration depend on just the number of followers..!!!
I personally know so many bloggers out in India and other countries who miserably use auto likers or fake followers to reach the niche. Also, there are so many bloggers out there including me who actually work hard to get their success but get badly effected for the whole fake follower thing because new bloggers used to ask you have fake followers or not.
Amar Ajnalkar: Top 3 skills required to become a successful influencer.
Gagandeep Singh: First it has to be PASSION if you are passionate about this, then comes the PATIENCE if you have the patience of doing this, and last but not least it’s CONSISTENT if you can be consistent of your work.
