Amar Ajnalkar: Tell our readers about yourself?

Anchal Mehta: My name is Anchal Mehta and I am 19 years old. I’m a writer, fashion blogger, social media campaign manager, and an influencer. I’m pursuing Clinical psychology from Amity University, Noida. I’m a very loud person and I’m very confident of who I am in and out. I’m stubborn and mature at the same time. I am a combination of bold and beautiful. Always there for people that I love.

Amar Ajnalkar: How did you come up with the name for your Instagram account?

Anchal Mehta: Choosing a username or name for my Instagram account was not a difficult job for me. I always wanted to keep it simple and real. So I decided not to make any changes in my real name and identity. So I decided to go with ‘anchalmehtaa’.Neither I wanted to look cool. I always wanted to keep it real, so that whenever a person searches for my account, it’s not difficult for them.

Physical abuse? Hmm. Hurts right? It tears you apart. You feel shattered. It breaks you. It makes you question your worth and existence. It makes you feel completely worthless. But guess what? They have just hurt the person(Yes i will not mention any specific gender, because physical abuse can be done by any person, gender has nothing to do with it) god sent to heal them. And PHYSICAL ABUSE IS NOT LOVE. Nobody gets to justify their shitty actions in the name of love or care. Because you don't physically abuse a person you truly love or care for. Nobody gets the right to even touch you without your permission, even if its your partner. NOBODY DOES. And honey you? Forgive them for what they did to you. But never ever forget that shit. Forgive them for not seeing your value/ worth and treating you like a piece of shit. Forgive them and learn a lesson from it. Do not let them control you just because they think they are stronger than you. No. Just don't. End things before they kill you from inside out. Move ahead in life. Forgive them but never forget what they did. And remember- ONLY A WEAK PERSON USE PHYSICAL POWER TO SCARE THE OTHER PERSON. You got quietly abused? Now heal loudly my love. Because you deserve healing. You deserve all the happiness in the world. So get up and give it to yourself instead of feeling 'just sorry' for whatever you have been through. What you don't deserve is toxic shit from weak people, you don't deserve sadness. All you deserve is happy and good vibes. Let that sink in🙌❤ -Anchal mehta

Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best thing about being an influencer?

Anchal Mehta: The first best thing about being an influencer is the ‘support’ my audience, friends, and followers gave me. The second best thing is the confidence I have gained in the past few years. When you post on social media and people appreciate your work and get inspired by you, it’s the best feeling indeed. There was a time when I had no confidence and I was not really proud of myself and I had no self-esteem. But after I started following my passion, i.e., Blogging and influencing, I am finally proud of who I am and the work I have done in the past few years. Everyone has their own insecurities, flaws, and battles, but bringing out the best version of yourself and presenting it in front of your audience is the best thing an influencer can do.

Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best collaboration experience that you have done with a brand?

Anchal Mehta: I cannot really name a particular brand as I have worked with 40+ brands to date. But, I really enjoyed collaborating with ‘The bulbul shop’ and ‘Dominos India’. I love shopping and what is the best opportunity for an Indian fashion blogger who gets to create content on Ethnic clothes. Also, being a foodie, one of the best and fun campaign was with Dominos India as it gave me a reason to have pizza during the lockdown. Always seeking out new food experiences.

Amar Ajnalkar: How many hours a day do you work and hows your daily schedule?

Anchal Mehta: I have no fixed schedule of working as being a clinical psychology major, I have to manage my research work and studies as well. Sometimes, because of editing and content creation, I have to work for hours and sometimes I just want a break from blogging. Sometimes, I have to stay awake the whole night. So, it all depends on the work and collaborations I have.

Amar Ajnalkar: Is the influencer profession affected your family life? if yes then how?

Anchal Mehta: In the starting, nobody except for my mom supported me. But when my family and relatives started observing my work, they were really impressed and proud of me. I also earn a bit from social media campaign managing and collaborations, so they all are proud of who i am and the sort of work I do. Therefore, it has affected my family life, but in a hell positive way. I can see the pride in my parent’s eyes when they talk about me.

Amar Ajnalkar: What motivates you in life?

Anchal Mehta: To be honest, there are endless things that motivate me. Like- learning new things, creating new content, new experiments, Support, and love that my audience blesses me with. (When you get an appreciation for your work, you automatically want to post more and create more).

Amar Ajnalkar: What are your favorite books or movies related to your niche?

Anchal Mehta: One of my favorite authors is ‘Monisha K Gumber’. And she has written 2 books, ‘Sick of being healthy’ & ‘Dying to live’. And both books teach me a few things. That is, how to be confident by being yourself, looks do not matter when your personality shines, and small things should never be a hurdle in accomplishing your goals.

Amar Ajnalkar: What surprising lessons have you learned while influencing?

Anchal Mehta: Surprising lessons that I have learned while influencing are, people will criticize you, make fun of you, they are also going to copy your content, will always ask for support but will never support you, be jealous of you for no good reason and after a point of time when they realize you are doing good, they will always come back and ask you ‘How did you manage to do this and coming this far?’. Some people also question you for having fake followers without knowing the fact that i am into influencing since 2017 i.e., 3 years.

Amar Ajnalkar: Top 3 skills required to become a successful influencer.

Anchal Mehta: 1) Interest and honesty towards influencing 2) Consistency 3) Creative and unique content

Amar Ajnalkar: Hows your experience with Amar Ajnalkar?

Anchal Mehta: My experience was really outstanding. I enjoyed answering all the questions and they were relevant to the field. Thank you soo much for this blissful experience.

Amar Ajnalkar: Two lines for our reader.

Anchal Mehta: Be yourself. Never give a damn about what others have to say about you as to when you are going to be successful, they are always going to come back. Also, work hard for what you want and be passionate about your work. One last thing, teamwork will always help you, so make contacts and socialize with people of similar fields. And you are amazing.
