Amar Ajnalkar: Tell our readers about yourself?
Gayatri Muley: I am Gayatri Muley also known as the wandering chopstick and I’m a Journalism and media student and a digital content creator as well as a YouTuber. I started my journey with food recipes and currently I review products ranging from fashion to lifestyle.
Amar Ajnalkar: How did you come up with the name for your YouTube Channel and Instagram name?
Gayatri Muley: The name of my account The wandering chopstick actually describes both my main niches which are Travel and Food. The name sounded quirky and I decided to go with it in the very beginning.
Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best thing about being a digital influencer?
Gayatri Muley: The best part is knowing that there are people out there who trust on your reviews. I get messages regarding a certain place or product and people ask me to try it and review. It makes me happy that they trust me and also when someone visits the place I recommend, try a certain recipe from my channel or use a product that I review. This is the best part about digital influencing undoubtedly.
Amar Ajnalkar: What is the best collaboration experience that you have done with a brand?
Gayatri Muley: Every collaboration that I have done is special in their own ways. The brands go out of their way many times but the best part is getting handwritten letters from the brand and also when they’re happy with my work and share it on their platforms. Once a brand personally thanked me after my reviews when they had a good footfall of customers. It touched my heart thinking that they appreciate my work.
Amar Ajnalkar: How many hours a day do you work and hows your daily schedule?
Gayatri Muley: Being a full-time student and part-time blogger it gets difficult to manage time most of the time but I try to allot weekends for food tastings and also daylight for clicking product pictures that I review. My daily schedule is pretty much of a college-going student, getting up early in the morning and attending lectures and practicing with camera and media equipment after that I get some time for leisure and then I try to maintain my social media after this is done.
Amar Ajnalkar: Has the influencer profession affected your family life? if yes then how?
Gayatri Muley: It has affected my family but in a positive way like now if something is made in the house my family decorates the plate for me and doesn’t touch the food until I get a good picture. They are very supportive from the beginning itself and are a major contribution to my success.
Amar Ajnalkar: What motivates you in life?
Gayatri Muley: The fact that I have a beautiful family and friends who push me hard to work every day. And as the contribution to the society in whatever way I can by making this world a better place to live.
Amar Ajnalkar: What are your favorite books or movies related to your niche?
Gayatri Muley: I’m not at all a movie or series fan however I love reading books and my favorite is – The unposted letters by mahatria ra and The secret by Rhonda bryne. One movie however which I like is YJHD as travel journalism is something that I would like to pursue as my career.
Amar Ajnalkar: What surprising lessons have you learned while handling your channel?
Gayatri Muley: In these two years of influencing work I’ve learned that no matter what you do there will be someone who is better than you at something so it’s better to not get discouraged seeing someone grow. Also there are some who will use shortcuts but won’t survive for long in the market so being honest in what you do is the best thing.

Gayatri Muley: There are many things which appear like gold from outside but as it’s said all that glitters is not gold. Every influencer you see is not perfect, we’re humans and we make errors too. People think content creation is easy but it’s not how it appears to be. Behind one single post goes a lot of hard work and determination. If you wanna excel in this field just try to be true to yourself and be sure about your content.
