There are very simple steps that you need to follow if you want to create a Facebook page of your own. Facebook page is mainly used to promote yourself or your business or your services.
The people who have liked your page will get notified about any new post you have posted on your page. You don’t need to share your posts with everyone around.
To save time and to reach out to people, you need to have a Facebook page. Even if you are planning an event, you can create a page for the event and notify everyone about the venue, time, etc. just by posting it on the event page.
Creating a Facebook page is very easy. You just need to follow few simple steps.
- Open your Facebook profile. If you don’t have one, don’t worry. It is very easy. On your browser type www.facebook.com and click on the ‘Sign In’ option. Fill out your personal details and you have your Facebook account.
- Once you login to your profile, click on the ‘create’ icon which is on the right-hand side on the top. When you click on it you will find out many options within it. Click on the ‘Page’ icon. Refer to the below image for better understanding.

- When you click on the ‘page’ option, another window will appear,

You need to decide the purpose of your page and then select from the two options. Is your page for Business or Brand, or it is Community or Public Figure?
If you want a page for your business or product advertisement, click on the first option and then click on Get Started.
- Next box will appear

Decide the name for your page. It can be up to 50 characters. But don’t make it very big. The name of your page should be attractive, creative and most important, easy to remember.
After you fill in the name for your page, the next option is the category. Start typing the category and many options will be displayed below. Select from it.

Fill in the address, city, country, the phone number is optional. And then click on the ‘continue’ option.
- The next step is to set the profile picture. The dimensions for desktop and smartphones are different. But the preferred dimensions you can use are180 x 180 pixels.
Click on ‘upload a profile picture’ to choose from your gallery and then click on next.

You need to now set a cover photo for your page. Click on ‘upload a cover photo’ and choose from your gallery. The dimensions for your cover photo should be 820 pixels wide x360 pixels tall.

Your profile picture and the cover photo should represent your business or product. It can be your logo or the main punch line.
- Your page is ready. Text boxes will pop up to guide you through your page. Read them so that you will get a detailed idea about your page.
- Once your page is ready, you will see ‘Add a button’ icon on the right side just below your cover photo. By this option, you can add your contact details on your page. It helps your customers to contact you when they need your help. So I recommend you to add your phone number here. It will help you build a good connection with your customers.

When you click on this Add a button tab, you will get the following options in it,

Chose whichever option is suitable for you, for your customer to call you to choose ‘contact you’ n then click on ‘call now,’ then click next.

Then add your phone number. And your page is off to go.
- Start inviting people to like your page. You can post some attractive content that gives an idea of your business so that they start liking your page.
